Originally trained as a goldsmith, I am going back to my first discipline to transpose sculpture into statements that you can wear and carry with you.
MSWO is a stretch of my fine art practice into wearable objects that unsettles what we expect from traditional jewellery. It’s about making everyday adornment a little rebellious, a little unapologetic. Shifting between precision and playfulness, the designs are fluid, bold, sometimes sharp, occasionally precarious; always intentional.
Beyond that, I believe that art and design practices can become platforms to empower communities it intersects with. In this way, by owning an MSWO piece, you also contribute to I Actually Did It Myself, a free wearable objects workshop programme for teenagers and adults facing systemic discrimination. With this initiative I use craft as a form of empowerment, offering a space for hands-on learning and creative exploration.
More to come soon.
