Hand-cut steel from found shelving systhem
100 x 60 cm
Until very recently, a woman’s sexuality was not discovered in relation to her own body, her intimate desire and pleasure, but rather, in relation to those of cis Men. Women developed and cultivated the pleasure of Men FOR their bodies. Maturity and encounters offer new insights.
These objects are the beginning of a series of magnetised, and therefore slightly moveable, wearable and non-wearable art works. They are cut by hand, in a playful, free and intuitive way out of left over metal and found objects. Pretty, ugly, sexy, sharp, unfinished, shiny, funny, this new body of work is a re-appropriation of the aesthetics of sexual representation, as both a satire and a way of taking and assuming one's intimate power and pleasure.
