"Des carcasses de tout" is a raw recording of a conversation before it's too late. My mother, who was ill, was telling me about our first return to Bosnia-Herzegovina, the year following the end of the war. However, this piece is not so much about the war as it is about fragility, memories, our scars, and departures. Voices and words are used as sculptural material, cut, assembled, and mixed with other sound elements. These come from recordings made in the oncology department of the Argenteuil hospital, from the friction of clothing, glass and metal cutting, hammering, an industrial printer, and songs.
Every summer, my mother would cut lavender in her garden and place it in used stockings. Sorting through her clothes after her passing, I gathered them all in the same bag. The video is a dive into this bag.
